BIOPLES 2004 - Iguana interview
Björn aka Dj Iguana je devětadvacetiletý psytrancový nadšenec, žijící poslední 4 roky v Berlíně, spolu s Martinem aka Z-neo tvoří autorské duo "Naked Tourist". Od počátku devadesátých let navštěvoval rave parties, zejm. techno, v r. 1995 propadl kouzlu psytrance a nakoupil první vinyly. První party, na které vystupoval, bylo X-mas party ve Frankfurtu. Účastnil se společných projektů s Zerotonine, Highko, djs Nico, Mac e, Sven Looping , Charasmatix, Necmi... apod. Více napoví krátké tematické interierview:
Kdy a jak jsi se dostal k psytrance ?
Psytrance jsem si zamiloval nekdy kolem r. 1995, navštívil jsem tehdy jeden malý kultovní klubík v Sauerlandské části Německa, kde hrál Starsounds orchestra a to mě dostalo!!!
Jakou jinou muziku posloucháš ?
Hm, poslední 4 roky jsem plně ponořen do naší vlastní muziky, takže toho moc jinýho ani neposlouchám, ale samosebou mám rád i normální hudbu, např. Air, Future Sound of London, Orbital, Kraftwerk , Björk, Aphex Twin, Chemical Brothers apod. Jinak někdy nepohrdnu ani heavy metalem, tj. Slayer, Sepultura, Morbid Angel...
Jaké je tvé občanské povolání ?
Hehe, jsem počítačový muzikant a nemám čas na žádnou jinou práci. Můj život je hudba, cestování a parties...
Už jsi byl někdy v České republice ?
Nee, nikdy předtím. Byl jsem v Rumunsku, Polsku a Maďarsku. Musím říci, že se mi východní část Evropy zamlouvá a do Čech se už moc těším.
Znáš nějaké české muzikanty nebo např. filmy ?
Sorry, prozatím moc ne, ale k Vám jedu se svým českým kamarádem, a tak doufám, že mi něco z Vaší tradiční muziky ukáže. Znám nějaké starší české filmy pro děti a mám je moc rád.
Jaké jsou Vaše plány s Naked Tourist, co chystáte na léto ?
Hmmm, naše plány se teprve rýsují, ale určitě to bude debutové live vystoupení na FullMoon festivalu a máme radost z toho, že máme hrát ráno od 4 do půl šesté po Skazi. Plánujeme samozřejmě další živá vystoupení, rádi bychom byly schopni hrát kdykoliv a kdekoliv po světě..:) Brzy nám něco vyjde i na kompilaci "Psychedelic Yours vol.2" u Parvati Records!!!!
Co říkáš na psytrance scénu v Německu ?
Psytrance party pro mě v Německu znamená normální trávení víkendů, skoro každý někde hraju a myslím si, že je to stejné jako všude ve světě, kde jsem byl - asi polovina akcí je nádhera mazec a zbývající polovina zase hrůza největší...
A co ty a plesy, tančíš i klasické tance ?
Ne, nikdy, tančení na normální muziku moc nemusím...
Kdys měl na sobě naposledy kvádro a motýla :)?
Hehe, asi na mé inauguraci, když mi bylo kolem 14 let. Pamatuju se, že jsem měl oblek a k tomu Nike tenisky:) - v tomto životě oblek asi nepotřebuju..:))
Na jaký festival nejraději vzpomínáš ?
Solipse v Maďarsku, na ten vzpomínám rád, bylo to opravdu velice osobité setkání lidí kolem naší muziky..

Jak jsi přišel ke své přezdívce (Iguana) ?
Míval jsem doma 1,5m dlouhého iguána (iguana iguana, velký zelený ještěr), byl mi dlouholetým společníkem, dokud asi před rokem neodešel do věčných lovišť. Jsem z toho smutný, ale je mi jasné, že takováto zvířata mají žít ve volné přírodě, není jednoduché je chovat v zajetí a asi není fér je takhle "věznit"..
When and how did you start being engaged with psytrance ?
I was falling in love with psychedelic music in around 1995, I visited a party at cult small club in the Sauerland area in Germany, Starsounds orchestra was playing and i was infected with the trance virus after that set!!!
What other music do you like ? Anyinteresting hobbies ?
Sorry, within the last 4 years I´m full into our music and don´t listen much to other kind of musicstyles...but for sure, I like also some normal music like Air, Future Sound of London, Orbital, Kraftwerk , Björk, Aphex Twin, Chemical Brothers and so on ...heavy metal is sometimes kicking, too ;) Slayer, Sepultura, Morbid Angel...
What is your formal occupation ?
Hehe, I´m a computer musician and don´t have time to do other jobs and stuff
music, traveling and partys are my life...!
Have you ever been to CZ ?
Nope, I´ve never visited czech before, I was in Romania, Poland, Hungary.. I can say i like the eastern parts of europe very much and I´m exited to go to CZ !!!!
Don you know any Czech musicians / films ?
No, sorry, don´t know music from CZ at the moment, but I am coming with a Czech friend to Bioplex and he must show me some traditionell and nu music from your country... I know some old Czech movies for children and I love them!!!
What are your plans for the future with Naked Tourist ? What plans do you have for this summer ?
Hmmm, our naked (tourist) plans are growing at the moment, we perform our live debut at the FullMoon festival and we are very exited for this party, first time live and playing after Skazi from 4 o´clock to 5.30 in the morning...some more life gigs are coming in and we would be happy to be able to go anywhere in the world in any time with our sound ;)
As a part of the most popular project ("VA":) we should get soon some stuff released on Parvati Records, watch out for the compilation "Psychedelic Yours vol.2" !!!!
How do you like the psytrance scene in Germany ?
Psytrance in Germany is for me like a normal weekend situation, I go nearly every weekend to the party and I think half of them are killer nice and the other half is a bullshit, ...hehe, like everywhere I´ve been in the world...
Did you go to the classical Ball, do you like classical dances ?
No never, I don´t like to dance to normal music so much...
When did you wear a formal suit (Ansung und Fliege) last time :)?
Hehe, at my confimation when I was 14 or something...and i wore Nike sportshoes with the formal suite :), ´don´t need clothes like thos for this life :)))
What festivals/parties do you have the best memories of ?
Solipse in hungaria - that is the party i like reminding myself of a lot. It was realy a very special meating for our music-ehehe...

How did you get your Dj nick (Iguana) ?
about my nickname: I used to have a 1.50 meter tall iguana iguana (great green lizzard), he was my life partner for a long time but he´s visiting the happy hunting grounds since one year ago...
I´m very sad about this but i think it´s better to let these kind of animals to live free in the nature as they are not easy to handle and it´s not fair to prison them!!!
