Label Inpsyde Media konečně vydal debutové album Frequncy Surfer. Člověk, který
za tímto projektem stojí, je bývalý člen GMS Sebastian Claro a tak si myslím,
že každý je zvědavý, jak tohle album asi zní ;) Každopádně je tam uslyšíte hlavně
v oblasti rytmiky, ale to je už dnešní světový standard a Frequency Surfer ví
jak na to, takže každý track na tanečním parketě zabere.
Jeho album se nese v groovy psychedelic trance stylu. Každý track se postupně
dostává k vrcholu, kde se všechny použité synthy setkají a vytvoří zvukovou
krajinu. Seb často používá "old-schoolové" synty a acidové linky,
což v dnešní době zní poměrně svěže a přináší tak zpátky do trancu již trochu
pozapomenuté pocity. Většina tracků nejsou tak frenetické a hektické, jak bývá
dnes zvykem, vířící synthy tvoří melodie, které tu a tam zastaví nějaký hlasový
sampl, ale pak vždy dostoupí vrcholu na konci tracku. Jeho styl je hodně hudební,
zvuky proletávají kolem beatů a basů a tvoří příběhy s trochu retro atmosférou
avšak skvěle pulsující. Dobrá hudba pro domácí poslech i pro party.
Jen poslední track trochu vystupuje s načtrtnutému konceptu. Začátek se nese
v drum’n’bass stylu, postupně přechází do psytrance a zakončuje rychlým 4/4
beatem.
Na cd je také "bonus frequency surfer video", což je příjemné, ale
samotné video zas tak extra není: Frequency Surfer hrající na party v klubu
s fluorescenčními dekoracemi a tančícími lidmi. Vše je opravdu pěkné, ale po
chvíli to začně nudit :) Ale tak o videu tohle cd samozřejmě není! :)
Takže v kostce řečeno, opravdu dobré album, které stojí za poslech, pokud jste
přívrženci full-on psytrance a také trochu "old-schoolově" laděných
věciček a pokud hledáte v hudbě příběhy, svěžest a kvalitní produkci.

Inpsyde Media has finally released the debut album of Frequency Surfer. The
guy behind is former member of GMS Sebastian Claro so I quess everybody is wondering
how this album sounds ;) You’ll definitely hear them in his tracks esp. in rhythmic
section, but this is the todays standard worldwide and Frequency Surfer knows
what he is doing, so every track should work very well at the dancefloor.
His album is filled with groovy psychedelic trance tracks. Each track is slowly
built up to the peak where all used synths meet eachother creating a soundscape
for every trance-head to enjoy. He often uses quite "old-school" synths
and acid lines which sound refreshing today and brings the forgotten feelings
back to trance. Most of the tracks here are not so frenetic and hectic as usual
today, the swirling synths create nice melodies stopped by voice samples time
to time, but then reaching the peak at the tracks end. His stuff is very musical,
sounds are flowing through the beats and basslines creating stories with a bit
old-fashioned pumpin atmosphere. Great music for both, home listening and dancefloor.
Just the last track stands out from the concept of this album. The first part
is drum’n’bass oriented and it’s get slowly into psytrance and finishes with
fast 4/4 beat.
There is also a "bonus frequency surfer video" included at this
cd, which is a nice idea, but the video is nothing special: FS playing out the
first track from his album in a club filled with fluoro decorations and dancing
people under black lights. It is all nice, but boring after a while :) But this
CD is not about the video of course :)
Anyway, very nice album the get your hands on if you are into full-on side
of psytrance & the "old-school" stuff too and if you look for
stories in your music, fresh sound and good production.
